THE A.Y. JACKSON GALLERY
A.Y. Jackson (1882–1974) was a pioneering Canadian landscape painter and founding member of the Group of Seven. Born in Montreal, he studied in Paris and embraced Impressionism before helping shape a distinctly Canadian art style. His bold brushwork and vivid depictions of the wilderness redefined national identity through art. Jackson also served as a war artist during WWI and later taught at the Banff School of Fine Arts. His legacy lives on in the Canadian art canon, inspiring generations with his talents and abilities passionate portrayal of the land
