Last Saturday I went for brunch at "Donna Mac" downtown Calgary. Wow! what a light and airy place (with parking just across the road). Each dish was a work of art! Coffee
was excellent too! So, inspired and fortified, I was eager to create a small 12" x 12" acrylic painting. The more I wanted it to be light and airy, the more it resisted! Now 4 paintovers later I must remind myself to let the painting speak. I'll try again tomorrow.
By the end of the week I should have completed a
commissioned piece of a specific historical architectural style in a protected heritage area in China. It has been quite challenging!
I hope that you'll come to the Bow Valley Ranche, 15979 Bow Bottom Trail SE, Calgary AB T2J 5E8 "Meet the Artist" evening on April 12 at 6.00 pm. where my artwork along with two other talented artists: Andrew Kiss and Piroska Pipo are on exhibition. We will tell you a little about ourselves and how we created our paintings.
Hurray! My sister is flying in for a visit in May! We always enjoy reminiscing about growing up on the Farm. I have so many plans. A week is not long enough. I can't wait! And there's the weather! Will it be warm enough to sit on the deck? Will the garden plants be popping up through the soil?
I've been watching a lot of garden shows recently. Decisions, decisions! Where should I plant the tomatoes this year? After all is said and done they will probably go back into the large raised tomato bed near the deck where they can be protected from hail.
I am curious to see if the Valiant Grape Vines survived the winter. I wonder if 4 vines qualifies as a vineyard.
